Meet the Audiologist

Meet the audiologist at The Indie Optician & Hearing Centre at Observatory. Our hearing care professional, Dee, qualified as an Audiologist in 2007.

“I am delighted to have joined the team at The Indie Optician & Hearing Centre at Observatory as an Audiologist, offering all our patients the added services of looking after everyone’s ears.

As an Audiologist, I conduct many different investigations into hearing loss and tinnitus. I can provide advice or hearing solutions for many hearing difficulties.

Wax removal and ear examination can be carried out with the latest technology, using Micro Suction and a Video Otoscope.

Because of my past extensive medical knowledge and expertise in audiology and hearing aid technology, I can provide a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of suitable outcomes, based on an individual client’s needs.

I have been registered as an Audiologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) since 2007 and am a registered member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiology (BSHAA) and the British Academy of Audiology (BAA). My audiology practice strictly adheres to all standards of practice and guidelines published by these prestigious organisations.

For many years I have also incorporated the Ida Institute philosophy of working with people who have hearing loss to support them in developing skills, knowledge and the confidence they need to better manage hearing loss. Person Centred Care puts the person with a hearing loss at the centre. As the Ida recommends, understanding the whole person is key to successful hearing rehabilitation.

The motto I remind myself everyday is, Be the best version of yourself. That is what I strive for both in my personal and work life”.
